Curing Paralysis

Don’t just think outside the bun, think outside yourself. Leave your safe harbor and sail into the sunrise. Follow the light and let your feet leave the ground. It’s too easy to get zoned out – comfortable, lazy, soft, doughy, glazed over. We’re spoiled, really. We sit in our temperature-regulated boxes and we still curdle. And then we get crusty and stuck. Yesterday’s news in last year’s coat hung out to dry. It’s time to break the safety seal.

Sometimes we get hit and bruised and broken and we can’t move. Other times we drug ourselves into a haze of vague apathy. Sometimes therapy cures paralysis. Exercise your muscles and retrain yourself on the basics. How to walk, how to smile, how to goof around. Other times the motivation comes from within, like a little benevolent infection that spreads kindness.

You won’t fail. You can’t. It’s impossible. There are too many people out there who want you to succeed. Try it. Just go for it. You know what you want, you think about it all the time. Admit it. Out loud. You’re better than you think you are. Secretly you’ve thought this all along. Prove it. Yes, it’s hard. But it’s fun. Exhilarating, really. Put yourself out there and the universe will reward you. Handsomely.

It takes courage to try new things and to grow scars over your old wounds. That’s OK. There’s no pressure. But we can’t wait to see what’s been in your head all this time.
