Local War on Terror

Maintain Vigilance

There are some out there who feel as though, with the recent election of Barack Obama, our Local War on Terror has come to a logical end. I warn you that we have not even reached a turning point! While President Elect Obama may have very good ideas on how best to deal with many of the issues facing our nation, he has not (nor will he) provided the American people with a comprehensive plan on how to fight terror here at home.

Faced with two wars, an economy in the crapper, and general distrust of America abroad, it may well be in the best interest of a President Obama to forestall any all out assault on terror. A certain level of fear in the demos never hurt any leader. If we fear the unknown, it is easier to sell us on hastily crafted solutions.

So, my friends, it is up to us to continue our vigilant fight against the forces of terror that attempt to oppress and discourage us every day. We must continue with eating ice cream (in reasonable joyous portions) and hugging our friends and loved ones. We must continue to laugh not only at the funny, but at the ludicrous. Some would want us to think the worst of our fate, and use that assumption to purchase our allegiance through fear. I say we must liberate our selves and others from the bondage of terror and fight on toward a new, better day of hope, liberty and happiness.

When your children, when the next generation comes along, what will you say you did in the face of terror? Did you cower and latch on to the nearest simple ideology? Or did you thumb your nose, laugh it off, and choose freedom over fear?
